KV Institute of Management and Information Studies, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and ICT Academy, recently conducted a guest lecture on ‘Corporate Social Responsibility: Integrating CSR Into Business Strategies’.
The session was handled by Joel Prince, GENC Top 10 Technical Trainer at Cognizant. He delivered an insightful and engaging session, emphasising the increasing importance of CSR in today’s dynamic business environment.
He explained the core concept of CSR and the Triple Bottom Line approach—People, Planet, and Profit—stressing the need for businesses to maintain a balance between social responsibility, environmental stewardship, and economic performance.
He elaborated on key CSR domains such as environmental sustainability, community engagement, ethical labour practices, and responsible sourcing.
He shared practical steps for integrating CSR into core business strategies, such as designing CSR initiatives, implementing workplace programs, establishing performance reporting mechanisms, and ensuring ethical business conduct.
The session also highlighted contemporary CSR elements like Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and fair-trade practices, and how CSR contributes to competitive advantage and market expansion.
“The session was highly informative and motivated students to think about responsible and sustainable business practices,” noted the organisers.
