In addition to following the syllabus prescribed by Anna University as part of its MBA courses affiliated with the University, KVIM emphasizes experiential learning through industry visits, live projects, and corporate interactions. This practical approach ensures that students gain real-world exposure and receive a value-for-money MBA experience that prepares them for successful careers in logistics and supply chain management.

Program Structure

The first two semesters are common to all MBA specializations including Marketing, Finance, HR with placement, Business Analytics, and Operations. Semesters 3 and 4 focus specifically on Logistics and Supply Chain Management, preparing students for a strong career after MBA in India.

Semester 1 – Foundation for Management

The first semester focuses on building strong management fundamentals that form the base for advanced learning. Students are trained in statistics for management, management concepts and organizational behavior, managerial economics, accounting for decision making, legal aspects of business, and information management. The curriculum also includes a non-functional elective such as entrepreneurship management or event management, along with contemporary business communication delivered as a laboratory course and Indian ethos and business ethics conducted through seminar-based learning.

Semester 2 – Core Functions of Management

In the second semester, students gain comprehensive exposure to core business functions essential for managerial success. The subjects covered include applied operations research, business research methods, financial management, human resource management, operations management, business analytics, and marketing management. Practical orientation is enhanced through data analysis and business modelling laboratories, as well as a creativity and innovation laboratory, which help students develop analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Corporate Exposure & Practical Learning

To strengthen practical learning and corporate readiness, KVIM integrates multiple experiential learning components into the program. Students participate in industrial visits, faculty-guided mini consulting projects, ultra short-term CI³ projects in collaboration with more than 150 MoU partners, and expert guest lectures delivered by corporate leaders. A structured summer internship conducted after Semester 2 further enhances real-world exposure. These activities support KVIM’s emphasis on placement-oriented learning and industry readiness.

Semester 3 – Logistics & Supply Chain Specialization

The third semester allows students to specialize in logistics and supply chain management through advanced, industry-relevant coursework. Students can choose six electives covering areas such as supply chain concepts and planning, sourcing and supply management, inventory management, supply chain information systems, warehouse management, transportation and distribution management, reverse and contract logistics, air cargo management, containerization and allied business, EXIM management, fundamentals of shipping, and port and terminal management. This specialization equips students with the operational, analytical, and strategic skills required in modern supply chain environments.

Semester 4 – Project Work

The final semester is dedicated entirely to project work, enabling students to integrate classroom concepts with real-world logistics and supply chain applications. This capstone experience strengthens practical understanding, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills essential for professional success in the logistics and supply chain domain.

Placement Preparation

Placement training begins from Semester 1 and continues until placements at the end of Semester 3. Students also attend KVIM Super Specialty Classes, which teach advanced, industry-relevant concepts not covered in the university syllabus—enhancing employability and industry readiness.
